« LUX EX TENEBRIS »
Birdy Tg
2015
Carrying on the philosophical parallel he establishes between the Dante Alighieri ‘s « Divine Comedy » and Fashion World, Birdy Tg offers here the next instalment of his famous visual serial: « In the Garden of God and the Devil ».
Following the course of his Novel of the same title, which will edited in 2016, Birdy Tg now tells about the Exit from Hell and the arrival on the Purgatory beaches of his “Modern Dante”, the young model Azif Wekare.
Birdy Tg pays a personal tribute to the Fashion House GIVENCHY and its famous designer, Mr Riccardo Tisci who designed each of the garments, accessories and jewelleries worn by the characters into this new artwork. Each of the designer’s codes has been respected as closed as possible but is, of course, artistically reinterpreted and staged by the Author.
Birdy Tg points out that this artwork is from his own and totally free artistic expression, which only engages himself. This artwork does not proceed from any kind of demand, order, or even sponsorship from the Fashion House Givenchy and/or Mr Riccardo Tisci.
As usual in Birdy Tg’s art, “LUX EX TENEBRIS” is an encoded and argued work which requires a mindful deciphering, considering the multitude of clues hidden even in the smallest details by the Author, to unravel one by one all the threads of the plot and to comprehend the philosophy behind this contemporary tale.
Critics have stated Birdy Tg’s style as “ lyrical, poetic, oneiric, allegorical and romantic…” (Ref: Hans Herrmann, German Art Critic, 2014), “true visual poetry; original, strong and powerful art, treated as freeze cinematographic frames; oneiric, baroque and surrealist frescoes, in a luministic and metaphorical manner…” (Ref: Nathalie Becker: Luxembourger Art Critic, 2014) or again “can be described as Diegetic and Lyrical Conceptual Art…” (Ref: Eric Vivier, French Art Critic and Visual Art Lecturer, 2015).
Birdy Tg has produced here his more complex work to date (2015) in a large fresco in mixed technic, 250x120cm in native format, 300dpi, 16 Bits, 50 Gigabytes that required over 6 months of restless work and includes over 2000 individual photographs and hundreds of painting, drawing and Digital art parts by the artist.
Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, or even to be born, is purely coincidental and beyond the Author’s will, all the characters being totally fictitious.

In the Garden of God and the Devil ».
